nah, parakeets dont do that. doves dont either. they get MORE protective of their kids tho..but parakeets, sometimes we've even taken some babies and given them new mommies cuz the ones they had were doing a sucky job raising them. theres even this one parakeet that'll take any baby she can and she'll raise it like its hers its so cute. so we usually end up giving her the orphans cuz she does a good job.

i need to get out more...

lol you should've seen what i did to the dove baby, that poor mother freaked out every time i came near and try to hide her baby under her, it was so cute... lol

OMG - my daughter has had budgies for years. She has 5 right now, but her budgies have never had babies.
The baby birds look very strange. :-)

yeah they look pretty gross, look how big the eyes are! we had 5 budgies first, they were innocent. they didnt know er..how to make more. then they saw the doves....and now we're up to 60+ -_-
